This Rietvallei estate is globally commended for producing one of the best fortified Red Muscadels in entire South Africa. Several of the bush vines are actually over 80 years old and give tiny but strong flavoured berries that make an excellent aromatic dessert wine. The bouquet is attractive with a scented Muscat aroma, which pursues the palate with composite raisiny sugariness and rose petal scent. The sharpness complements this wine and makes it simple to enjoy this strongly sweet and scented wine. Red Muskadel is actually a very mild pink, fragrant wine with juicy nose and direct rose petal and muscat flavours. It is considered as a very fruity and semi-sweet Blanc de Noir. It should be consumed within a year for additional flavour and aroma. The wine can be served with red meats like roasted beef, pork, lamb and veal.
